Why are Barn Owls population decreasing?
There are many people who shoot Barn Owls in Ireland because they think that they are unlucky, Barn Owls are most certainly not unlucky, so these people are shooting them for the wrong reason.
Barn Owls fly close to the road/ground, and because there is a lot of traffic now, they are being run over by cars.
Their common habitat, Barns, are being demolished to build something in its place.
In farms, they are cutting down all the hedges and places which the Barn Owl likes scavenge in, so they can't survive without their food.
